Reasonable Rental Rates
Whaley House Museum is available for the reasonable rate of $50 an hour. A refundable deposit to reserve your event date is also required.
A Variety of Caterers
Upon request, Whaley House Museum can furnish a list of professional caterers able to meet various budgets. You also have the option to provide your own refreshments.

Whaley House Museum is located between the campuses of the University of Michigan-Flint and the Flint Cultural Center. Whaley House Museum is easily accessible from area expressways and has convenient on-site parking.
Rental Rules
Whaley House Museum does not provide catering services. However, we can supply a listing of approved caterers upon request.
Whaley House Museum staff or representatives will be on the premises for the entirety of the event.
Any damage sustained to the premises or artifacts of Whaley House Museum will result in the loss of deposit.
During the agreed rental period, both floors of Whaley House Museum will be available to the lessee and their guests. Food and beverages are prohibited in the Front Parlor and on the Second Floor.
Due to the historic nature of Whaley House Museum, there are restrictions on certain types of foods, beverages, and decorations.
Lessee is responsible for cleaning all spaces used and for the removal of all refuse they generate. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
All events must conclude by 10:00 pm. This includes departure of all guests, cleanup, and removal of refuse.
Foods: Preparation of foods over an open flame is prohibited. However, wick chafer fuel may be used to warm dishes. Foods with staining properties are prohibited.
Beverages: All drinks with staining properties are prohibited. White wine and champagne are the only alcoholic beverages permitted. Lessee must include a copy of their personal certificate of insurance with full payment. Neither Whaley House Museum nor its staff or representatives are liable for alcoholic beverages served to the lessee's guests. Guests determined by Whaley House Museum's staff or representatives to be disorderly or endangering the house and its artifacts will be asked to leave the premises.
Decorations: Tape, nails, tacks, and staples may not be used on any surfaces. Candles are not allowed except for a unity candle during a wedding ceremony. Confetti, rice, birdseed, bubbles, and balloons are not permitted.
