Whaley House Museum provides an unique atmosphere for staff retreats, holiday parties, small weddings and nearly every other special event you can imagine. Please contact Whaley House Museum at 1885@whaleyhouse.com or 810.235.6841 to schedule a tour of our facility prior to confirming your reservation. Below is our current rate schedule and rules of use:
Rate Schedule for Meetings, Parties, and Weddings
Rental Plan I: Small Groups (24 persons or less).
Rate: $30.00 per hour.
Full payment due ten business days prior to rental date.
Security deposit: $50.00, refundable. Due with signed rental agreement.
Kitchen and dishware available for an additional $20.00.
(Kitchen and dishware fee waived for Friends of Whaley House Museum.)
Rental Plan II: Large Groups (25 to 50 persons).
Rate: $100.00 per hour.
Full payment due ten business days prior to rental date.
Security deposit: $150.00, refundable. Due with signed rental agreement.
Kitchen and dishware included.
(Kitchen and dishware fee waived for Friends of Whaley House Museum.)
Rental Plan III: Wedding Only
Rental of museum for wedding for a maximum of three hours.
Maximum fifty people in attendance.
Rate: $250.00 total.
Full payment due ten business days prior to rental date.
Security deposit: $150.00, refundable. Due with signed rental agreement.
Rental Plan IV: Wedding and Reception
Rental of museum for wedding and reception for a maximum of six hours.
Maximum fifty people in attendance.
Includes use of kitchen and dishware.
Rate: $350.00 total.
Full payment due ten business days prior to rental date.
Security deposit: $150.00, refundable. Due with signed rental agreement.
Rental Plan V: Rehearsal, Wedding, and Reception
Rental of museum for a rehearsal for a maximum of two hours.
Rental of museum for wedding and reception for a maximum of six hours.
Maximum fifty people in attendance.
Includes use of kitchen and dishware.
Rate: $400 total.
Full payment due ten business days prior to rental date.
Security deposit: $150.00, refundable. Due with signed rental agreement.
Rules of Use
Whaley House Museum does not provide catering services. However, we can supply a listing of approved caterers upon request.
Whaley House Museum staff or representatives will be on the premises for the entirety of the event.
Any damage sustained to the premises or artifacts of Whaley House Museum will result in the loss of deposit.
During the agreed rental period, both floors of Whaley House Museum will be available to the lessee and their guests. Food and beverages are prohibited in the Front Parlor and on the Second Floor.
Due to the historic nature of Whaley House Museum, there are restrictions on certain types of foods, beverages, and decorations.
Lessee is responsible for cleaning all spaces used and for the removal of all refuse they generate. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
All events must conclude by 10:00 pm. This includes departure of of all guests, cleanup, and removal of refuse.
Foods:
Preparation of foods over an open flame is prohibited. However, wick chafer fuel may be used to warm dishes.
Foods with staining properties are prohibited.
Beverages:
All drinks with staining properties are prohibited.
White wine and champagne are the only alcoholic beverages permitted.
Lessee must include a copy of their personal certificate of insurance with full payment. Neither Whaley House Museum nor its staff or representatives are liable for alcoholic beverages served to the lessee's guests.
Guests determined by Whaley House Museum's staff or representatives to be disorderly or endangering the house and its artifacts will be asked to leave the premises.
Decorations:
Tape, nails, tacks, and staples may not be used on any surfaces.
Candles are not allowed except for a unity candle during a wedding ceremony.
Confetti, rice, birdseed, bubbles, and balloons are not permitted.
