Donate Your Artifacts 

The museum accepts donations of artifacts to enter the permanent collection in the house. If you have any historical artifacts related to the McFarlans, Whaleys, Orrells, Crapos, or any other prominent Flint families from the 19th or early 20th centuries, please email us with photos and some of the history of the artifacts: [email protected] or give us a call at (810) 238-7228

The historic home of the McFarlan-Whaley family has stood for over 135 years. Please consider the museum in your estate planning and plan for us in your trust or will. Gifts can be made in memory of loved ones and will be recognized by the Museum. These generous gifts allow the museum to stay open and a part of the Flint cultural community. 

Grow our Endowment

Help us plan for the future! Thanks to a recent, generous donation, the Whaley Historic House Museum now has an endowment through the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. Every dollar put towards this endowment stays invested in it forever; nobody, not even the museum, can access these initial invested funds. However, annually, the WHHM will receive a percentage of the earnings in the form of unrestricted funds, with another small percentage going immediately back into the endowment to help it grow. This endowment means sustainability for our future! What's more, through the Community Foundation, we will be able to see who our donors are!
