Florence (Whaley) Orrell's Wedding Shower

Join us as we recreate Flint's social event of the 1895 season: the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. William Crapo Orrell.  Step back in time to an evening in the Gilded Age as a wedding guest celebrating our very own Florence Whaley Orrell. The real reception was held here in the formal parlor; and so we are pleased to invite you to this nearly authentic recreation including florals,  wedding cake, reenactors, and more. This is a must attend event for any Victorian Romantics at heart. Period costume is encouraged but not required.

Florence Whaley's Bridal Shower Tea

Our own Florence Whaley was married in October 1895, the newspapers noted it as one of the social events of the season that year. 130 years later, you are invited for a re-imagining of her bridal shower with a special tea party at the WHHM! For tickets please call us at 810-238-7228 or send an email [email protected]

Historic Plaster Workshop

Join us for an educational twist to our crafternoons. Using molds discovered of the museum's original medallions, our guest speakers Clay and Kristen Brophy of "High Standard Plaster Restoration" are excited to teach you the joys of plaster restoration, and the history of plaster and plaster medallions! You'll even have the opportunity to create your own plaster mold to take home! Seats are extremely limited due to the nature of this program and the space available. While the work shop is free, donations are graciously accepted for the continued operations of the museum.
